It caught my attention as I drove by --

"Free trip to heaven -- details inside",

A novel expression to catch someone’s eye,

Rich with a promise, that can’t be denied.

We all want a free trip, no matter where,

And heaven’s the place we’d rather go,

And getting there free rids us of all care,

Like a fairy-tale journey through the snow.

But something was wrong! The trip isn’t free!

The most costly Price has already been paid:

By the death of God’s Son on a rugged tree,

Full payment for sins was once for all made.

Perhaps we should change the message I saw --

"Trips to heaven, paid in full -- details inside",

And teach of the Savior, Who fulfilled the law

To lead us to heaven, as His precious Bride.
